In the afternoon you will collect your rental car and, following the directions of your road book you will be directed to the Highway 99 to arrive, after a few kilometres, on board of a ferry heading to Vancouver Island. You will arrive in Nanaimo after 1 hour and 35 minutes. Continue North towards Campbell River, where we arranged a motel or B&B for you. Overnight stay at your hotel with breakfast.

Day 3 From Campbell River to Port Hardy

This morning you will start off from your lodge in Campbell River for an interesting excursion focused on whale and grizzly watching, along with all the wonderful wildlife of the Great Bear Rainforest, considered the jewel of Canadian naturalism and recognized by the WWF and the United Nations as one of the most beautiful parks of temperate rainforests in the world. The variety of animals is unique here. The variety of wildlife in this park is truly unique: lots of grizzly bears, along with the black ones, gray wolves, bald-headed eagles, moose and deer, earth otters, and – killer whales, dolphins, sea lions and various species of whales at sea. Upon return, you will depart to Port Hardy and stay at Ecoscape Cabin or a B&B of your choice.

Day 4 the Discovery Coast

Today a real 13-hour mini cruise is awaiting you, during which you can admire one of the most spectacular scenery on the way: the crossing along Discovery Coast.
The Queen of Chilliwack will start off at 10.15 from Port Hardy. Make sure to arrive at the docks 2 hours prior to check-in and, after parking the car on the bridge, head to the upper decks and enjoy the extraordinary show (don’t forget your binoculars!): look through the narrow canals and fjords, enjoying the opportunity to observe wildlife on shore. Sometimes the ferry slows down to let you watch the herds of killer whales while passing them by. On arrival in Bella Coola, check in a lodge where you will stay for the night. Breakfast is included.

Day 5 Great Bear Rainforest

Today you’ll make the most interesting excursion (or incursion, if you prefer) to the Great Bear Rain Forest. This time you will reach the middle of this most extensive protected area for spotting killer whales, whales and especially the grizzly’s Great Bear Rain Forest and explore the small islands, coves and small bays, visit estuaries chosen by salmons for their crowded ascents . Returning back to the lodge and overnight stay.

Day 6 From Bella Coola to Williams Lake

Today, while being essentially transferred from Bella Coola to Williams Lake (453 km to cover comfortably in 09.08 hours), you will once again have the opportunity to admire the lush untouched nature and its beautiful landscapes.
Crossing the Tweedsmuir South Provincial Park (one of the most extensive protected parks of BC), you will have the opportunity to observe particularly varied flora, especially in regards to the berries: and where there are berries …. there are bears, in particular grizzly and brown bears. It is worth making a detour to see the Hunlen falls, one of the highest waterfalls of British Columbia. The rest of the way will not disappoint you.  Late in the afternoon, you will arrive in Williams Lake and check in your hotel or B&B, with breakfast included.

Day 7 From Williams Lake to Whistler

The second and the last stage of a simple transfer from Williams Lake in Whistler: 440 km will be crossed smoothly, while you can enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. You will arrive in Whistler in the afternoon, check in a B&B or guest house that you choose. The rest of the day will be free.
Returning back to the lodge and overnight stay. Breakfast is included.

Day 8 Whistler

Whistler, a popular resort in British Columbia, both in winter and summer, was the site of the Winter Olympics 2010. Here, you will find modern facilities for skiing that will satisfy even the most demanding skiers. Do not miss the latest “Peak-to-Peak Gondola”, the “top-to-top” chairlift  that carries tourists ( at any time of the year) from the Summit of Whistler Mountain to Blackcomb Mountain. Return back to your B&B, dinner and night stay. Breakfast is included.

Day 9 Back to Vancouver

In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, you will return back to Vancouver by car through the famous “Sea to Sky Highway”. Once in Vancouver, you will still have a few hours at your disposal for the last purchases. Afterwards, you will go to Vancouver International Airport, where, after having delivered the rental car, you can get ready for boarding and your return flight.
