Day 1: Arrival in Vancouver
Upon your arrival at Vancouver International Airport, you will be welcomed by a member of our team, who will transfer you to your hotel. At this time, you will be able to take a small introductory tour of the city along the route to your hotel, which will be the Westin Bayshore or Fairmont Waterfront. You will stay here for the next two nights to acclimatize. Our ROAD BOOK will be delivered to you upon arrival, and will indicate several dinner options for you to choose from.

Day 2: Vancouver Tour
After a good sleep and hearty American breakfast, your guide will take you on a tour of the city of Vancouver, starting in the green heart of the city, Stanley Park, which boasts a beautiful seawall and aquarium. You will then move north across the Lions Gate Bridge to visit Marine Drive and Dundarave Park, where you will have a snack in one of the local restaurants. In the afternoon, visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Salmon Hatchery to learn about the interesting life of the Pacific salmon. Finally, head to Coal Harbor for a fascinating flight over the city by seaplane, where you’ll admire the bay, mountains and Gulf Islands. Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants indicated in our ROAD BOOK.

Day 3: Toward Tofino
After checking out of your hotel in the morning, we will take you to pick up your rental car. From here, you will be directed to Highway 99 and escorted by a member of our staff to the ferry terminal to Vancouver Island. You will arrive in Nanaimo after 1 hour and 35 minutes of crossing. When you’ve reached Vancouver Island, follow the map northward to Campbell River, driving along highway 4 for about 2.5 hours until you reach Port Alberni. The signs of each path are indicated in your Road Book. After a stop in Port Alberni, you will come across Cathedral Grove, one of the most beautiful Sequoia and Red Cedar parks in the region, filled with beautiful centenary trees. In the late afternoon, you will reach the beautiful village of Tofino. Here, you will stay for two days in a lodge facing one of the most spectacular beaches along the Pacific Rim, where you can admire the wild beauty of this stunning stretch of coastline.

Day 5, 6 & 7: Grizzlies and Whale-Watching Cruise
After visiting the west coast of the island, today you’ll head east for your eco-adventure. A delegate will greet you upon your arrival in Campbell River, and take you to your hotel for the evening. During your free time here, visit the museum or take a trip along the river, always following the instructions of your Road Book. The following morning, you will fly to Knight Inlet via seaplane and check in to your lodge, located inside the Great Bear Rainforest where three spectacular days of observation await you. The magnificent Great Bear Rainforest is described in a recent issue of National Geographic as the jewel of Canadian nature, and has been recognized by the WWF and the UN as the most beautiful temperate rainforest park in the world. There is a large variety of wildlife present in this park, featuring animals of both land and sea: big bears, gray forest wolves, bald eagles, giant moose, bull deer, otters, orcas, dolphins, sea lions and various species of whales. Every day, you will head out on expeditions accompanied by experts of the Knight Inlet Lodge. Sometimes, excursions will take place on boats and rafts to better reach viewpoints. All meals served at the lodge are of excellent quality, showcasing authentic West Coast cuisine and fresh seafood. There will also be additional excursion options during your time here, such as mountain climbing in the forest and a bear/whale-watching cruise along the coast.

Days 8 –12: Cruise
In the morning you will leave the lodge via seaplane, which will take you back to Campbell River. From here, you will travel to Vancouver via ferry, from where you will depart on your wonderful cruise adventure to the Alaskan coasts. You will stay in a suite or room with an outdoor balcony, in order to fully enjoy the view during the splendid cruise.

Day 13: Transfer to Talkeetna
As soon as you disembark from your ship at Whittier and collect your luggage, you will find one of our representatives at the terminal. They will direct you to your coach bus for a comfortable and spectacular transfer to Talkeetna. Relax and enjoy the wonderful views from your executive seat while you move along to the Portage Glacier, followed by the scenic Seward Highway from where you can see the beautiful fjord of Turnagain Arm and Chugach Park. Your first stop will be Anchorage (around 12pm), where you can go for a refreshing break and visit the local museum (included). Then you will continue on to the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, arriving at around 5:30 pm. Enjoy dinner on own and an and overnight stay in a double room at the lodge.

Day 14: Flying Over the Glacier
Today you will make an exciting trip to the summit of Mount McKinley glacier, via plane. Upon leaving Talkeetna, you will immediately notice the impressive scenery in front of you, taking in the glorious mountain peaks and icy ridges. You’ll find yourself right in the middle of Denali National Park, one of Alaska’s most admired natural wonders. During the trip, you can listen to the pilot through headphone who will describe the history and beauty of these glaciers. Once on top of the glacier, you will land and be able to go for a short walk. At the end of the excursion, you will return to the Talkateena airport with enough time to prepare for your transport to Denali Park via motor coach, that will leave from the Talkateena Alaskan Lodge at 6 pm to reach Denali Princess Lodge (dinner at your leisure).

Day 15: Denali National Park
Your lodge is the perfect starting point for today’s exploration of Denali National Park, the huge park of nearly 2.5 million hectares that surrounds Mount McKinley and is home to 39 species of mammals, including grizzlies, black bears, moose, bighorn sheep, wolves and wolverines. Here, you’ll see the highest mountain in North America: Mount McKinley (also known as Denali, “the tallest” in the area’s native language). The area was established as Mount McKinley National Park on February 26, 1917, and is the largest protected natural ecosystem in the world. Here, there are 167 species of birds, 10 species of fish as well as approximately 650 species of flowering plants and about as many species of moss, lichen, mushrooms and seaweed. Filled with majestic nature, you can experience it all on your 12-13 hour guided hike along the Kantishna Wilderness Trails, considered the best coastal route for viewing the many beauties of the park (approx. 150 Km). During the hike, you will be served a snack, while lunch will be included at the Kantishna Roadhouse, where you will also have an opportunity to see a sled dog demonstration. At 3pm, you will enjoy a unique spectacle and partake in a flight over the beautiful and vast Muldrow Glacier and Alaska Range. In only 55 minutes, you will find yourself back at the entrance to the park, where you can then head back to your lodge for an afternoon of rest and dinner at your leisure.

Day 16: Traveling on the GoldStar Dome Rail Road Train
Today at about 11am you will set out to the Denali Depot to begin your spectacular journey on the Gold Star Dome Rail Road Train. At 12:25pm, you will be board the train and be seated on a special carriage specially built with large glass windows that will allow you to comfortably observe the wonderful nature of Alaska. Sit back and relax in your recliner chair while enjoying a delicious lunch and great glass of wine while taking in the mountain panorama. Just like in the movies, the magnificent scenes of Mount McKinley will be on display. Pay attention to the numerous animals that you can spot throughout the journey, including bears, elk, deer, wolves, swans and storks in flight. You will arrive at Anchorage at 8pm and will check in to the Crown Plaza, the newest hotel in the city equipped with the utmost comforts. Dinner at your leisure, not included.

Day 17: Return Flight
In the morning, enjoy some shopping in downtown Anchorage. Then, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
